Tindall Awarded The Precast Contract for Schoharie Facility

Tindall Corporation was awarded the precast concrete modular cell contract for the Schoharie County Public Safety Facility in New York state. The complex is being relocated after sustaining flood damage from Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.

Schoharie County decided to rebuild their new facility outside of the floodplain rather than stay in their original location. County officials worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to secure $37 million in public assistance and disaster relief funding. Alongside industry leaders, LeBella Associates and BBL Construction, Tindall will rebuild the facility that will include precast concrete modular detention cells.

Tindall will produce 68 precast concrete cells out of their Conley, Georgia manufacturing facility. The jail cells range from 70 to 104 square feet and arrive by truck complete with pre-installed furniture and detention fixtures and provide a safer more secure environment for inmates and employees.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Schoharie County on the rebuild of their campus, said Cory Paterson, Technical Sales Representative of Tindall’s Georgia Division. “Our decades of experience in the corrections industry and our fast-track modular system will enable us to exceed expectations and deliver a superior precast solution.”

Over the last 20 years, Tindall has completed 12 detention projects throughout the state of New York. Tindall is set to start the project at the end of 2018. Once construction begins, Schoharie County’s new campus will be completed in 16-18 months.
